MyTwin Lab: a new AI for breast cancer detection via mammography

Lab MyTwin continues its work on AI-powered medical imaging analysis and unveils a major breakthrough: an AI dedicated to mammography analysis and early breast cancer detection.

Hedi's Work

This new AI is the result of the remarkable work of Hedi, a Lab MyTwin contributor. His model was trained to analyze mammographies and identify early signs of breast cancer, with a level of precision that makes it a reliable complementary screening tool.

This development perfectly illustrates the strength of Lab MyTwin: talented contributors who put their skills in service of public health, within a collaborative and open framework.

Next Step: Clinical Studies

Before being deployed at scale, this AI must first undergo the clinical studies required to obtain medical device (MD) certification. This is an essential step to ensure the tool's reliability and safety within a recognized regulatory framework.

Free for Patients, Paid for Professionals

Once certified, the decision has been made to make this feature freely accessible to all patients worldwide, directly via the MyTwin app on their phone. Users will simply photograph or upload their mammography results to receive an AI analysis.

For healthcare professionals, access to the tool will be offered as a paid subscription, allowing them to integrate this AI into their daily clinical practice.

This choice of free access for patients is a strong statement. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women globally. Access to screening remains very unequal depending on country and socioeconomic background. By offering a free tool accessible from a smartphone, MyTwin contributes to reducing these inequalities.

After MRIs, Mammographies

This AI adds to the one already developed by the Lab for brain MRI analysis. Lab MyTwin is progressively building a comprehensive suite of medical imaging analysis tools, making screening capabilities accessible to the broadest audience — capabilities that were until now reserved for the best-equipped hospitals.

The ambition is clear: making MyTwin the first line of health prevention, accessible to everyone, everywhere.
