Thomas Da Silva wins the Hawaii Parasurfing Championship

It's official: Thomas Da Silva, The Blind Surfer, has just won the Hawaii Parasurfing Championship. A major victory for this 100% blind athlete, supported by UNYRA Academy.

A Victory in Hawaii

Hawaii, the birthplace of world surfing, is the most symbolic stage imaginable for such a victory. Thomas Da Silva triumphed over international competition at this para-surfing championship, confirming his status as an exceptional athlete.

This victory is the fruit of relentless work, an iron will and quality support. Since joining UNYRA Academy in April 2025, Thomas has benefited from a structured framework to pursue his sports and awareness projects.

A Meteoric Rise

In just a few months, Thomas has stacked achievement after achievement:

  • April 2025: he joins the Academy and launches his "Everything Is Possible" podcast.
  • May 2025: he races down his first red ski runs at Courchevel.
  • July 2025: he is crowned champion in Hawaii.

This pace speaks to extraordinary determination and an ability to excel across radically different disciplines.

What's Next

Thomas's journey doesn't stop in Hawaii. The next steps are already planned:

  • California in September, for another competition.
  • The World Championships of para-surfing, the ultimate goal of the season.

Thomas Da Silva continues to prove, competition after competition, that disability is not a limit but a challenge to transcend. UNYRA is proud to support him on this journey.
